The Powerful Goodness of God

About God – Part 19

Listen to podcast audio:

When we speak of God’s goodness, some may perceive it as a softer attribute of God, especially when compared to his justice, wrath or judgment. Today, Gary Wilkerson explains that through a correct understanding of God’s goodness we will see its transformative power.

Key Points from the Podcast

  • We should be careful not to classify some attributes of God as kind and others as harsh.
  • The goodness of God is not a weak or soft attribute of God, but part of his strength and power.
  • We must have a complete picture of all God attributes, not focusing only on the ones we like.
  • The word of faith and prosperity movements have kidnapped the goodness of God and hoodwinked many into thinking God is like a genie in a bottle who will grants us our wishes.
  • The goodness of God can actually be wrapped up in pain, sorrow and suffering sometimes.
  • God’s ultimate goodness is himself, not the things he gives us or does for us.
