Praying for One Another

World Challenge Staff

The power of prayer has always been an integral part of World Challenge’s ministry, and we are honored to intercede on the behalf of our partners around the world.

We fervently believe in the promise and command of this verse: “And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:15-16, ESV).

What greater blessing is there than to enter into the Father’s presence and lift one another up before him? We invite you to join us in praying for our partners internationally!

Israel

  • Riots are occurring in Northern Israel as Islamic radicals are coming into towns. Pray that believers, many of whom are Arab Christians, will be protected during this time of intense strife.

  • World Challenge partners in the northern part of Israel were in an area hit by rockets from Lebanon, but thankfully there has been no damage to their homes.

  • Pray for David, the son of one of the staff, who was just sent into Gaza as part of the first group troop battalions being sent in to answer this attack. Several church members’ sons have also been called up as part of 9,000 reserve soldiers.

India

  • Covid cases are rising at about 400,000 per day. Additionally, people are contracting a ‘black fungus’ in their lungs and nasal passages that can be quite deadly.

  • Recently, a World Challenge ministry leader in Northern India almost died from Covid. Please pray for his recovery and healing.

  • World Challenge’s ministry coordinator and his family in Southern India are currently recovering from Covid. Join us in praying for protection for them from secondary infections.

Nepal

  • In some areas, up to 50 percent of those tested for Covid are found positive. The burden on their medical infrastructure is overwhelming, and there is an acute shortage of oxygen tanks, ventilators, ICU beds and vaccines.

  • Two of our five World Challenge trainers in the country are currently recovering from Covid. Please pray for the Lord to heal and protect their bodies as they continue their work for the community.

  • Political upheaval looks like an almost inevitable eventuality. The country’s Prime Minister was forced to step down after poor handling of the situation, and a new government is supposed to be formed in the middle of this crisis.

Albania

  • Studies are showing that teens have alarmingly high rates of drugs and alcohol addiction. Many children and teenagers have been orphaned or abandoned by their families. For many, the church plays an active role in raising those who are neglected by their parents. Pray for healing and restoration for families.

  • A youth leadership conference is going to be held to help raise up Christian leaders in the next generation. Join us in praying for these young people to experience God’s presence and wisdom in their lives.
