God has moved powerfully to save persecuted believers in India after years of petition by the church.

Evangelist and preacher Billy Graham stated, “Prayer is one of our greatest privileges as God’s children, and even if God doesn’t seem to answer your prayers at first, don’t stop praying. God loves you, and no prayer goes unanswered.”

One man’s painful journey with God has given him a unique heart for the suffering of Bosnia’s people.

The Bosnian War is still not forgotten.

When you stroll through the city of Tuzla, you can still see buildings riddled with bullet holes. Political corruption, economic issues and unemployment have dogged Bosnia since the bloody conflict that erupted between Bosnian Serbs and Muslims.

God and Christian community helped bring one woman into a place of dignity as she learned how to run her own business.

Despite cultural discouragement and restrictive laws, believers are working to empower locals and introduce them to a God who cares in this small central Asian country.

Community makes an enormous difference in believers’ lives, and one young mother is growing into a new life with the help of her church.

When the World Challenge team first met her, Grace was a shy and timid believer. She described herself as a typical housewife who was only concerned about her own household and had very little to do with her community.

For those who have been forced to flee from their homes, God offers hope and light in some very dark places.

As conflict flares up in the Middle East, refugees are pouring out of war-torn areas. Their flight often takes them into Turkey since it is more stable socially and politically.

Street Kid Turned Neighborhood Evangelist

Pacifique Nzoyisenga
January 9, 2020

World Challenge’s partners in Burundi run a children’s home and school so abandoned children can experience God’s love and care as well as grow into strong adults.

When I first found Mukamarakiza, he was living on the streets in Ngozi.

He’d been abandoned early and was 11 years old when we met, but unfortunately this is nothing unusual. Street children in Burundi are common, especially in the larger towns.
