Twenty dollars. A year of care. One child.
James 1:27 says pure religion is caring for orphans and widows in their distress. Here's a place to start.
Hope for the orphans of South Sudan
In South Sudan, thousands of children have lost their parents to war, disease, drought, and tribal violence. Hunger is constant. Medical care is scarce. For six months of the year, the roads turn to impassable mud.
Local church partners are working to change that. Right now, they're running four makeshift schools, caring for 4,000 children, nearly half of them orphans. They feed them a daily meal. They teach them to read. They share the gospel.
But they're at capacity. Every day, children walk long distances hoping to find food. Every day, some are turned away. One worker put it this way: “It's so sad you can't even cry.”
Twenty dollars provides a full year of food, schooling, and spiritual care for one child. Twenty dollars. For a year.
If you've been waiting for someone to do something, this is your chance to be that someone.
