Persecuted believers in Bangladesh are seeing God heal

World Challenge’s partners lead a church in the heart of Bangladesh. Persecution levels for believers there are very high. Violence has risen in 2024 thanks to Bangladesh’s recent election where political figures are calling for Christianity to be silenced.

Our partners and the church will not be silent. They approached one sick little boy’s mother and asked if they could pray for her and her son. At first, she refused. Her son’s health grew worst, however, and she came to the church.

The believers gathered, and the pastor said, “In the name of Jesus, your son will be healed by today.”

The little boy’s health miraculously improved, and through his healing, many people have devoted their lives to Christ. Doors that were once closed have opened for the gospel to be shared.

We are dedicated to supporting the persecuted church in places like Bangladesh. Your prayers and gifts mean you are joining hands with us to spread the word about Christ in dark places.

3 ways to pray for the persecuted church

1.

Pray that as they share in Christ’s sufferings, they would be able to rejoice in the hope God offers them (see 1 Peter 4:12-14).

2.

Pray that God would protect them, according to his will (see Matthew 26:39).

3.

Pray that persecuted Christians would fearlessly tell others about Jesus (see Ephesians 6:18-20).

Why Does Giving Tuesday Matter?

  1. Giving Tuesday is one way we celebrate and encourage generosity toward those in need around the world.
  2. In 2023, we used 89% of our total operating expenses for programs that benefit children, families, gospel proclamation and communities in need.
  3. Last year, our generous supporters raised more than $30,000 for the global church on Giving Tuesday.
