Why would we run from the social difficulties that we’re in now and not run to them? We need to bring the Word of truth, if indeed the Word of truth is resident in our own hearts.
My call is for us to see one another, to hear one another, to receive one another and to receive the fullness of the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can be in unity. My prayer for the church today is that God would fill it with the power of the Holy Spirit, that its members would give themselves over to radical unity and surrender to God’s will and purposes, that the scourge of racism would once and for all be dealt with so that power can be restored to the gospel—a gospel that brings transformation and renovation both in individual hearts as well as entire communities, cities, states and nations in the world.
Please join me in praying for a spirit of reconciliation and peace in our nation. In order to achieve this, love is the key. “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
