It can stem from sin, or sometimes from not fully understanding the new covenant we have through Jesus. Isaiah tells us that if we try to make our own light — add our righteousness to Christ's — we'll lay down in torment. Jesus invites those who are heavy laden to come to Him, and He will give them rest. Our part is faith that Christ's work on the cross was complete.

God has a plan and a purpose for each of us. It is not a plan based on our own abilities or qualifications, but on God's power and provision.

As these principles become a reality in our lives, and when the victories come, we must impart them to the next generation.
