John Bailey joins Gary Wilkerson to discuss how Christians should think about God’s New Covenant promises.
Key Points from the Podcast
-
Trying to cover the guilt and shame we experience when we sin is a plight of humanity going all the way back to the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve tried to cover themselves with fig leaves.
-
If there is no revelation of your flaws, sin, and brokenness then there is no hope for freedom from them.
-
God in his love for us sent his sinless Son to become sin for us and cleanse us from all of our sins.
-
True victory and power come when you cease from your striving to earn God’s acceptance and rest in God’s unmerited favor offered to those who place their faith in Jesus Christ.
-
Some sectors of the church focus heavily on grace while others focus primarily on faith, but both are necessary because we are saved by grace through faith.
-
Our righteousness does not come through keeping the law, but by placing our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
-
