Learning How to Encourage Yourself in the Lord

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

If you allow a seed of bitterness, envy or unforgiveness to grow in your heart, you are silencing God's voice in your life. Without God's presence, we cannot know the Lord's comfort and strength. In this sermon, David Wilkerson examines the lives of King Saul and David to show what is necessary for believers to encourage and strengthen ourselves in the Lord. King Saul had once been anointed by God, but he indulged sin that closed him off from spiritual encouragement. By contrast, David constantly turned back to God so that his heart was always open to receive the Lord's resources.
