We see in scripture that God has a calendar, timeline and agenda of when and how He plans to operate. However, we also see that the persistent faith of believers can move Heaven.
Pastor Tim Dilena shares about "alligator talk"—those times when our conversation can suddenly and flawlessly switch from godly to sexual, course joking, etc. and back again. Out of the heart, the mouth speaks. There are no five steps to taming the tongue; God must do a work in our hearts.
Have you ever found yourself asking God, "What if I can't…?" That's exactly what Abraham's servant asked when he was sent to find a wife for Isaac. Abraham on the other hand was a man with steadfast faith because he lived in the presence of God. He knew God would move. There is clarity, direction and revelation when we dedicate our time to being in God's presence. Not only will your faith increase, but your faith will be contagious to others.
Pastor Gary Wilkerson spontaneously shares some recent thoughts from his devotional life. He encourages the church to let down their nets into deeper waters—deeper prayer, faith and revelation. He challenges us, like Jesus has challenged Him, to believe for healing just as much as we believe for salvation. We conclude the service by taking God at His word and praying for physical and emotional healing.
God doesn’t deliver His people when they are proud and strong in themselves. We must pray without pride and pretense. It’s the honest heart that catches God’s attention. When your prayer becomes a cry God begins, hears and delivers His people. God will raise up ministers who preach the gospel who will shake the very powers of hell. These are the keepers of this generation who God will use to set the captives free.
Pastor Gary Wilkerson continues our sermon series from the Gospel of John, looking at three vignettes in the life of Jesus. In each we see critical situations desperately needing a move of God. "The Sower" shows us that we reap and receive that for which we did not labor. "The Son" demonstrates that Jesus does not require conditions or coordination. And in "The Sick Man" we see that hope lost over time can be restored in a moment.
Even Jesus, as man, needed to be filled with the Holy Spirit. You might expect to see miracles right away, but instead Jesus was led into the wilderness and tempted by Satan. After that He preached but was despised by the people. One might start to think that the Spirit wasn't with Him, but there is a necessary step of faith required before the power of the Holy Spirit can be released. Finally we see miracles being performed—the sick healed and demons cast out. The power that Jesus had, He gave to His disciples and He gives it to us today. Receive it and step out in faith.
