Responding to Doubt and Apathy

In this episode, John Bailey is joined by Evan Wilkerson to discuss the ways in which church leaders and families can successfully engage with their children’s doubts and apathy.

A New Generation’s Questions

In this episode, John Bailey is joined by Evan Wilkerson who shares how his journey back to faith inspires his work to answer the burning questions of young people about God and the Bible.

Hebrews 6:11-12

And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Job 1:21

And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Assured of God’s Faithfulness

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

As Jesus stood at the highest point of the temple, Satan whispered to him, “Go ahead. Jump! If you’re really God’s son, he’ll save you.”

“[The devil] said to him, ‘If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: “He shall give his angels charge over you,” and, “In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.”’” (Matthew 4:6, NKJV).

Chasing Away the Vultures

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

In Genesis 15, God made a glorious agreement with Abraham. He instructed the patriarch to take a female heifer, a female goat and a ram and cut them all in two. Then Abraham was to take a turtledove and a pigeon and lay them on the ground, head-to-head. Abraham did as he was instructed, and as these creatures lay bleeding, vultures began to descend on the carcasses.

God’s Road to Deliverance

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

“Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us” (2 Corinthians 1:10, NKJV). What an incredible statement! Paul is saying, “The Spirit delivered me out of a hopeless situation. He’s delivering me even now. He will continue to deliver me in all my afflictions.”

Run Your Fingers Through Your Hair

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

Christ described the last days as a troubling and frightful time. What did he give us to prepare us for these calamities? What was his antidote to the fear that was going to come?

He gave us the illustration of our Father watching the sparrow, of God numbering the very hairs on our heads. These illustrations become even more meaningful when we consider the context in which Jesus gave them.
