Every generation has its own unique questions that the gospel can address if church leaders are sensitive to the spiritual needs of their people. In this session, Tim Dilena explores how the church can avoid getting caught in cultural movements and miss the chance to minister to people's real spiritual needs.
Over 80 percent of the unchurched have a believer in their life whom they trust. The popular saying that actions speak louder than words in evangelism is false; actions speak before words. Barry Meguiar points out that God has uniquely placed us to boldly share the gospel with others.
Fruit in the Bible can mean a lot of things; it can mean fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, meekness, kindness; but it can also mean fruit of ministry. As we see in the New Testament, certain men from Cyprus and Cyrene went to Antioch, and the hand of the Lord was with them, and multitudes turned to the Lord (see Acts 11:19-26).
The apostle Paul declares, “But what does it [scripture] say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on him will not be put to shame’” (Romans 10:8-11, NKJV).
“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (Philippians 4:4). These are Paul’s closing word to the Philippians. He wasn’t saying, “I am in prison and these chains are a blessing. I’m so happy for this pain.” I’m convinced Paul prayed daily for his release and at times cried out for strength to endure. Even Jesus, in his hour of trial and pain, cried to the Father, “Why have you forsaken me?” That is our first impulse in our afflictions, to cry out, “Why?” And the Lord is patient with that cry.
Fred Sanders joins Gary Wilkerson to discuss the importance of the Trinity and the role that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit each play in salvation.
I was at a fashion party and just felt empty,” Becket Cook said, describing his life as a set designer in fashion, bumping shoulders with supermodels and the socialite elite.
